  • Eastlink is the first company in Atlantic Canada to introduce Internet speeds up to 10 Megabits per second.
  • Eastlink partners with The Source By Circuit City retail stores to offer customers Eastlink Digital Cable, High Speed Internet, and Telephone in 26 locations across the Maritimes.
  • The Canadian Cable Telecommunications Association (CCTA) presents Eastlink Television with a Galaxi Award for outstanding performance in the On-Camera Performance and Information Category.
  2004
  • Eastlink and Rogers Wireless announce a wireless agreement that provides Eastlink Bundle customers with access to Rogers Wireless services. This is the first agreement of its kind in Canada between an independent cable company and a wireless provider that offers residential customers a joint, bundled offer.
  • Eastlink brings telephone competition to the New Brunswick market by launching local telephone service in Sackville.
  • Eastlink unveils Digital Video Recording (DVR) allowing customers to pause, record and rewind LIVE programming.
  2002
  • Eastlink connects Mount Allison University's computer network to its fibre optic network, giving faculty and students access to CA*net 3, the world's first national optical Internet. This network allows universities and research centres to transfer more intense data faster and more efficiently.
  2001
  • Eastlink Television celebrates 30 years of delivering local programming to communities throughout the Maritimes.
  • Eastlink purchases Shaw's Nova Scotia cable systems in Dartmouth, Bedford, Sackville, New Minas, Kentville, and Digby. The companies are amalgamated under the Eastlink brand.
  • Eastlink brings telephone competition to Prince Edward Island with launch of telephone service in Charlottetown.
  2000
  • Eastlink expands high speed Internet service to additional communities throughout its service areas.
  • Eastlink launches "triple-play" communications and entertainment bundle combining Cable, High Speed Internet, and Local Telephone.
  • First communications and entertainment company in North America to bundle all services on one bill for one price. Other major communications and entertainment soon follow Eastlink's lead.
  • Business Communication services are now available with Eastlink.
  • Eastlink launches Digital Cable delivering even more channel choice to consumers.
  1999
  • Lee Bragg and Dan McKeen are appointed Co-Chief Executive Officers for Eastlink.
  • In addition to providing cable television service, Eastlink launches local telephone service. This establishes Eastlink as the first cable company in Canada to move into the telephone market.
  1998
  • Bragg Communications and Halifax Cablevision Limited are merged under the brand of Eastlink resulting in the formation of the sixth largest cable company in Canada.
  • Eastlink purchases Island Cable of Prince Edward Island. The system delivers cable television service to communities throughout the province.
  1997
  • Keddy's cable system is purchased. System serves the communities of St. Margaret's and Prospect Bay, Nova Scotia.
  • K-Right Communications Limited, serving New Glasgow, Nova Scotia is purchased.
  • Eastlink launches High Speed Internet in Halifax. This is the first system to have access to the service in Nova Scotia.
  1992
  • K-Right Communications Limited, serving the communities of Sydney and Windsor, Nova Scotia and Summerside, Prince Edward Island is purchased.
  1990
  • Seabreeze Cable, serving the community of Shelburne, Nova Scotia is purchased.
  1989
  • Viking Cable, serving Yarmouth, Nova Scotia and surrounding communities is purchased.
  1986
  • Collingwood, Nova Scotia system is purchased. The system serves the communities of Oxford and Collingwood.
  1985
  • Halifax Cablevision Limited, the largest cable system in eastern Canada, is purchased by the Bragg Communications.
  1983
  • MidValley Cable Limited is purchased. System serves the Nova Scotian communities of Middleton/Greenwood/Aylesford.
  1980
  • Antigonish Cablevision Limited, serving Antigonish, Nova Scotia is purchased.
  1978
  • Springhill Cable TV, serving the community of Springhill, Nova Scotia is purchased.
  • Tri-Town Cable is purchased. System serves customers in Bridgewater, Mahone Bay and Lunenburg.
  1971
  • John Bragg enters the cable business in Amherst, Nova Scotia with one of the first cable licenses granted by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC). As a result, Amherst is the first community in Nova Scotia to enjoy cable television.
