Eastlink Customers in Summerside Enjoy More Choice with Launch of 70 New Digital Channels

Summerside, Prince Edward Island – Eastlink announced today it has expanded the Summerside Digital Cable line-up with the launch of over 70 new channels. In 2007, Eastlink announced the $6 million investment towards upgrading the communications network in the Summerside area to provide consumers with more choice. These upgrades have enabled Eastlink to expand the capacity for programming in the area.

In addition to the new channels, Eastlink OnDemand is now available for Digital Cable customers. Eastlink OnDemand provides a library of choices with convenient features like pause, fast forward, and rewind similar to a DVD player. Eastlink OnDemand has no schedule constraints, therefore giving viewers instant, automatic access to what they want to watch, when they want to watch it.

"We invested in the Summerside network to bring an expanded level of choice to customers," said Ian Lezama, Director of Marketing with Eastlink. "With the launch of an expanded digital line-up and the introduction of Eastlink OnDemand services, customers will now enjoy even more entertainment options and more flexibility to watch what they want when they want."

Digital customers can now subscribe to over 20 High Definition channels including the HD Extra Pak for even more high quality viewing. The additions of the HD channels provide customers with more opportunity to watch their favorite shows on their HDTV for a superior viewing experience.

Sports fans will want to subscribe to the Super Sports Pak, which will give them more Major League Baseball, National Football and National Hockey League games than anywhere else.

The addition of the Super Channel programming package provides Eastlink Digital Cable customers with a wide range of movies and shows from Canada and around the world, uncut and commercial free. The Action Pak is also available as part of the expansion, along with additional channels to the Digital Starter package.
