Eastlink Scores Alley-Oop with Live Coverage of ACAA Basketball Double Header

Truro, Nova Scotia – From slam dunks to three-pointers, Eastlink Television will be packed with the best of Atlantic Colleges Athletic Association (ACAA) Basketball as it televises a live, special presentation of the men's and women's games on Sunday, March 1st.

The University of Kings College (UKC) Blue Devils are visiting the Nova Scotia Agricultural College (NSAC) to take on the NSAC Rams. The action begins at 2 p.m. with the Women's game followed by the Men's game at 4 p.m.

"This level of basketball might at times be under rated, but there is some real talent on these teams," says Eastlink Television Sports Commentator, Cecil Wright. "Keep an eye out for NSAC forwards Jenna Hazleton and Patti Gilroy, and guard Meagan MacLeod. For UKC, Sarah Conn and Lia Milito are standouts." These teams have split the season series thus far; UKC 70-64 in game 1 while NSAC won 54-38 in the rematch.

Cecil added that the players to watch on the NSAC Men's team are Luke Wiseman, Jonathan Kennedy and Tom Teakles with Brandon Burke, Matt Boyle and Ken Reardon leading UKC. These teams have also split the series; UKC 99-55 in game 1, while NSAC won 63-46 in the rematch. This match-up should make for some exciting games.

The tip-off starts at 2 pm so settle in with your remote, your favourite munchies and grab some friends to watch the best local sports action on Eastlink Television on March 1st. For more information on Eastlink Television programming, please visit www.Eastlink.ca/eltv/.
