Eastlink unveils its latest, fastest internet speeds: Internet 200 and Internet 80 launch today.

Halifax, NS – Eastlink announced today the launch of its 200Mbps internet speed.

“We're proud to be once again delivering on our promise to provide the most innovative telecommunications products to our customers,” says Deborah Shaffner, Eastlink president and COO. “Our commitment to continuously invest in our fibre network means that we are able to lead the market in rolling out the highest quality products and services to our customers like the fastest internet speeds and the best TV  with 1080p HD.”

Eastlink  has a long history of leadership in high speed internet and including the fastest internet speeds in a bundle. The Nova Scotia company was the first internet service provider in Atlantic Canada to offer speeds of up to 100Mbps in the spring of 2010. Today, the company continues its lead by being the first in Atlantic Canada to offer internet speeds scalable to 200Mbps, launching first in HRM and rolling out to other markets across Nova Scotia and Canada in the weeks and months ahead.

“We’ve understood for a long time how people are using the internet, and just how important fast download speeds are to our customers,” says Shaffner. As multiple devices are becoming more and more prevalent in the average home, download speed requirements have grown exponentially.”

Shaffner says the introduction of Internet 200 isn’t the only exciting news Eastlink has on the internet front. The company also announced the launch of its new Internet 80 product.  “We’re confident that Internet 80 will be particularly popular with our Bundle customers.”

Shaffner hints that the launch of Internet 200 and Internet 80 is just one of many exciting announcements customers can expect this year. Along with the much anticipated launch of Eastlink’s wireless service later this year, 2012 is shaping up to be an exciting year for this Nova Scotia-based company.
