Halifax, Nova Scotia - Donald Rankin, Eastlink's Director of Human Resources, has been honoured with the Excellence in Human Resources award by the Human Resource Associations of Atlantic Canada.
Mr. Rankin was chosen for the award based on his outstanding contribution to the human resource profession, aligning and influencing corporate strategies with the best of human resource practices and his commitment to learning and continuous professional development. The award was presented at the Atlantic Canada Human Resources Award ceremony held in Saint John, New Brunswick on May 25, 2006.
During his 28 years in the business and human resource community, Mr. Rankin has played an instrumental role in developing and implementing progressive human resource policies.

Mr. Rankin joined Eastlink in 1998 and led the design, creation and implementation of Human Resource infrastructure, systems and policies for the company. Under his stewardship, Eastlink has grown from 125 employees to over 700. Prior to joining Eastlink, he worked for Oxford Frozen Foods. While at Oxford, Donald recruited Human Resource functions and managed Group Benefits and Pensions; Labour Relations; Recruiting and Organizational Design; and Training and Development. Donald has also spent time at Maple Leaf Foods and Farmer's Dairy.

In addition to his passion for the human resource profession, Mr. Rankin is active in his community and sits on the board for St. Vincent's Guest House.
