In 2007, EastLink was selected by the Government of Nova Scotia to deliver EastLink High Speed Wireless Internet service to underserved communities of Nova Scotia in Zones 5 and 6 including Lunenburg, Queens, Shelburne, Yarmouth, Digby, Annapolis, Kings and Hants Counties. We are pleased to report that many of the programs elements are successfully in place. Since the contract award, EastLink has completed the preliminary network design and is now completing site acquisition work and tower connection. We participated in a rigorous consultation process to provide communities with the opportunity to share their thoughts and concerns and to help facilitate the provision of high speed internet as soon as possible. Representatives from EastLink completed meetings with Industry Canada and municipalities across zones 5 and 6 to obtain approval for the construction of antenna towers.
