FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
November 7, 2008
Halifax, Nova Scotia – On Tuesday, November 11th at 7:00pm, Eastlink Television debut's the documentary special, "Philip Riteman, A Survivor's Story".
After forty years of silent mourning, Philip Riteman, decided to speak about his experiences as "prisoner 98706" to give a voice to the millions who died in the killing pits and camps, and to silence those deniers of the Holocaust.
Over the years, Riteman, who lives in Bedford Nova Scotia, has spoken at schools, churches and universities in communities across North America. As he continues to bear witness, Riteman hopes to touch many lives and inspire young people with the message that "it is better to love, than to hate", to become better citizens and make a fair but stronger society.
"This thought provoking documentary tells a story that we felt was important to share," says Director of Eastlink Television, Michael Smith, "Mr. Riteman has lived something that most of us could never imagine; sharing his message educates and inspires all of us to become that stronger society that Philip talks about."
"Philip Riteman, A Survivor's Story" premiere's Tuesday, November 11th, at 7:00pm. To learn more about any of Eastlink Television's programming, please visit www.Eastlink.ca/eltv.
