FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
June 21, 2013
Delta, BC – Delta Cable announced that it will be supporting Earthwise Society’s “Feed the Bees” initiative today by planting a bee-friendly garden outside of the company’s headquarters on Ladner Trunk Road.
The initiative is designed to support the repopulation of bees in the Delta area.
“It’s very important that we help sustain the local bee population,” says Delta Cable’s Sales and Marketing Manager Shawn Mudge. “The potential impact that a declining bee population could have on our local economy is serious considering the prevalence of agriculture in the Delta area. We’re very proud that we’re able to help out with this initiative.”
Earthwise Society’s Director, Patricia Fleming says Delta Cable’s garden project is the first of its kind by a company in Delta. “Delta Cable is the first business to plant a bee garden at their place of work in Delta. We would like to thank and congratulate them for supporting this initiative.”
Delta Cable’s bee garden will provide bees with a variety of pollen and nectar-rich plants, allowing them to make honey and help pollinate local Delta crops throughout the growing season.
