Halifax, Nova Scotia - The twinkling lights of the 12th Annual Chronicle Herald Holiday Parade of Lights will be aglow - live and exclusively televised on Eastlink Television throughout Nova Scotia and PEI on Saturday, November 17, beginning at 6 p.m. Valerie Hould-Marchand of Eastlink and Earl Mader of C100 will co-host the production, with Eva Hoare of The Chronicle Herald reporting from the parade route. The Parade, which is presented by Eastlink and the Downtown Halifax Business Commission, will also be re-televised on subsequent Saturdays at 6 p.m. until Christmas on Eastlink Television.
"We are thrilled to bring this holiday parade to families throughout Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. We now televise the Triple Crown of Maritime parades on Eastlink Television: the Apple Blossom Parade, the Gold Cup Parade, and the Parade of Lights," said Michael Smith, Director of Eastlink Television. "It is an honour to be able to extend the reach of these special community events to our viewers," added Smith. The broadcast is convenient for those who cannot attend; however still wish to share in the seasons festivities.
For more on the Chronicle Herald Holiday Parade of Lights, C100 listeners can also tune-in to Brad and Peter Friday morning between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m., when Eastlink's own Valerie Hould-Marchand will join them.
Eastlink is proud to be sponsoring the event, which so many our employees enjoy each year with their families. Volunteers from Eastlink will be present in the parade as well as in the safety area, where parents can pick up their children who participated in the parade.
