FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
December 19, 2007
Windsor, Nova Scotia - The Angels are singing this year thanks to the success of the annual Windsor Christmas Angels Fundraiser on Eastlink Television. Televised on December 2nd, the Christmas Angels, in partnership with Eastlink Television, helped raise over $27,000 in donations, an increase of seven percent from 2006.
"Giving back to the communities where we work and live is especially important during the holidays when the need is so great," said Michael Smith, Director of Eastlink Television. "We were overwhelmed by the generosity of local residents who gave more than ever to this important fundraiser. Being a part of these fundraisers and helping charitable organizations raise money that is returned back to the local community to help children and families is really what the season is all about."
Funds raised during the broadcast will be used to purchase food and gifts for needy families this holiday season.
"On behalf of the Christmas Angels Committee, a large and heartfelt thank you to all who were such a great help in making the 2007 Christmas Angels Show an unqualified success. Over 100 volunteers. Over 200 performers. Two major broadcast partners. Vast numbers of donors. What a host of Angels!," said Christmas Angles Coordinator, Nancy Quinn.
Every year, Eastlink Television is involved in many fundraisers, which annually generate over $2 million in funding for many charitable causes. For more information on any of Eastlink Television's programming, please visit www.Eastlink.ca/eltv
