Truro, Nova Scotia – Eastlink Television held a special event in Truro on Wednesday, April 23rd, for the launch of their new documentary "Some Horse!... the Story of Somebeachsomewhere." Over 160 people, including members from the local harness racing community, attended the premiere screening of the documentary, which doubled as a fundraiser for the Colchester Regional Hospital Foundation.
Held at the Marigold Cultural Centre, attendees to the premiere enjoyed a reception where donations were made to the Colchester Regional Hospital Foundation To Our Health Campaign. In a two hour reception $8773 was raised. Eastlink then matched the donations provided which resulted in more than $17,500 being raised for the Foundation.
"This was a very exciting night for the Foundation. We raised $8773, which John Bragg and Eastlink matched so that it was a significant amount raised for the To Our Health Campaign," said Eleanor Casey, Incoming Chair of the Colchester Regional Hospital Foundation Board, "The Documentary produced by Eastlink, "Some Horse! ... the Story of Somebeachsomewhere" was extremely well done and well received. The Foundation is very thankful for this fundraising opportunity."
Eastlink Television locally produced the documentary "Some Horse!... the Story of Somebeachsomewhere", which premiered on Eastlink Television Sunday, April 27th, at 6:00pm. The documentary is the story of a locally owned world-class champion colt named Somebeachsomewhere – now a well known pacer within the sport of Harness Racing.
"Eastlink is about community and it was a natural fit for us to have this launch and support the Colchester Regional Hospital Foundation To Our Health Campaign at the same time," said Director of Eastlink Television, Michael Smith. "We were pleased to launch our documentary about a horse that is a winner and make it a win-win for the community by raising money for the hospital foundation."
