Amherst, Nova Scotia - Eastlink partnered with the Amherst Rotary Club on May 12th & 13th to broadcast the 53rd Annual Amherst Rotary Television Auction. The event was a success, fundraising over $22,000 for various charitable causes in the Amherst area.
"This auction was made possible through our partnership with Eastlink Television," said Dwight Jones, Chairman of the Amherst Rotary Auction. "Many exciting changes were made possible for this year's auction through the support of Eastlink Television."
The annual auction is one of the Amherst Rotary Clubs major fund raising activities which provides funding to support local initiatives such as the operation of Camp Tignish, to establish a Centennial Park, a bursary program at Amherst Regional High School, and other community initiatives such as the Cumberland Regional Library.
"We are always pleased to give back to the communities where we work and live," said Michael Smith, Director of Eastlink Television. "The generosity of viewers throughout the Maritimes make the role we play in supporting charitable and not-for profit organizations extremely rewarding."
Every year, Eastlink Television is involved in many fundraisers, which annually generate over $2 million in funding for many charitable causes. For more information on any of Eastlink Television's programming, please visit www.Eastlink.ca/eltv
