Windsor, Nova Scotia – Eastlink partnered with the Windsor Rotary Club on May 13th to 15th to broadcast the 17th Annual Windsor Rotary Television Auction. The event was a success, raising over $35,000 for various charitable causes in the Windsor area.
"We appreciate the 17 year partnership we have enjoyed with Eastlink Television which has raised over $500, 0000 to be used in the communities of Windsor, West Hants and Hantsport" said Andy Kirk, Co-Chair of the Windsor Rotary Auction Committee. Kirk, who is also the Deputy-Mayor of the Town of Windsor, added that the Rotary is still completing the final tally but expects the 2008 Television Auction total to exceed last year's total.
The annual auction is one of the Windsor Rotary Clubs major fund raising activities and money raised during this year's auction will support Rotary Youth Camp at Camp Mockingee.
"We are always pleased to give back to the communities where we work and live," said Michael Smith, Director of Eastlink Television. "The generosity of viewers throughout the Maritimes make the role we play in supporting charitable and not-for profit organizations extremely rewarding."
Every year, Eastlink Television is involved in many fundraisers, which annually generate over $2 million in funding for many charitable causes. For more information on any of Eastlink Television's programming, please visit www.Eastlink.ca/eltv/
