Truro, Nova Scotia – On May 26th & 27th, Eastlink partnered with the Rotary Club of Truro to broadcast the Rotary Club of Truro Television Auction. The event was a success, fundraising over $45,000 for various charitable causes in the Truro area.
"It was overwhelming how the partnership with Eastlink along with the contributors and bidders came together to make this a great success," said Ed MacDonald, Vice President and Chairman of the 2008 Auction.
The Auction provides funding to support local initiatives such as the operation of Camp Tignish and Rotary House. The funding is also used to support handicap individuals with specialized equipment and disadvantaged youth in the Truro area.
"We are especially pleased with this year's Rotary Auction as we exceeded last year's total by 50 percent," said Michael Smith, Director of Eastlink Television. "It is important for us to be involved in community initiatives like this because they do so much in our own back yards".
Every year, Eastlink Television is involved in many fundraisers, which annually generate over $2 million in funding for many charitable causes. For more information on Eastlink Television programming, please visit www.Eastlink.ca/eltv
