Halifax, Nova Scotia - The Canadian Association of Family Enterprise (CAFE) named the Bragg Group of Companies the 2008 Nova Scotia Family Enterprise of the Year at its award luncheon held earlier this month in Dartmouth. The award, sponsored by KPMG and RBC Royal Bank, recognizes significant achievement made within a Nova Scotia family enterprise. The Bragg family business story was profiled along with the other two award finalists, Floors Plus and Miller Tire. On hand to accept the award was Lee Bragg, Co-CEO of Eastlink, the fifth largest cable television provider in Canada, employing over 1500 in offices across the country.
"All three of these companies exemplify successful family businesses who have transitioned to the next generation; not an easy feat to accomplish," says John Day, President of CAFE Nova Scotia. "The Bragg family is certainly a deserving recipient for this award and a model of a thriving family business. CAFE, KPMG and RBC were privileged to profile their story and to celebrate their family success story and those of our other two finalists."
