Amherst, Nova Scotia – Eastlink Television is pleased to have partnered with the Rotary Club of Amherst to broadcast the 54th Annual Amherst Rotary Auction on May 18th and 19th. The event was a great success, raising near $22,000 for various local charities in the Amherst area.
“Through the support of Eastlink Television and staff, the Annual Amherst Rotary Club Auction raised $21,880 to assist with its ongoing community development initiatives,” commented Dwight Jones, President Elect of the Amherst Rotary Auction.
Retailers and businesses throughout the region donated hundreds of items and services for the auction. Online bidding began on May 4, culminating in the live broadcast on Eastlink Television.
The annual auction is one of the Amherst Rotary Club’s major fundraising activities, which provides financial support for a number of local initiatives, including scholarships and youth development projects, the Cumberland YMCA, and Camp Tidnish, a unique summer camp for special needs individuals of all ages.
