Yarmouth, Nova Scotia – Eastlink Television is pleased to have partnered with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Yarmouth to broadcast the 21st Annual Big Brothers Big Sisters Auction on May 27th. The event was a huge success, raising $11,300, an increase of nearly $4,000 over last year’s fundraising amount.
“Having this auction on Eastlink Television not only assists us in raising money, it also helps promote community awareness of the service we offer and allows us to reach more potential volunteers to match to the many children we have in need,” says Judy Melanson, Executive Director, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Yarmouth. “We appreciate Eastlink Television's commitment to local programming, and to the children of the community we serve. This is truly local television!”
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Yarmouth, part of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada, is a leading child and youth serving organization providing mentoring programs in and around Yarmouth, including an in-school mentoring program. The auction and Bowl for Kids Sake are the agency’s two largest fundraisers, raising a large portion of its annual budget.
