This video landmark achievement was reached earlier this week and company officials say that customers can expect much more in the weeks and months to come.
Deborah Shaffner, Eastlink's president and Chief Operating Officer, said the milestone is especially gratifying as the company prepares to launch exclusive new HD content in the coming days. "We've invested heavily to give our TV customers the best video experience."
Eastlink hinted about an upcoming November launch of 4 new HD movie channels that will include Video OnDemand content with 1080p 24 Blu-ray quality picture. This is the first HD content officially launched on the company's new Motorola MPEG 4 platform.
This announcement comes just two weeks after Eastlink's first to market launch of FX Canada HD, a premier specialty channel featuring critically acclaimed movies and original series.
"We will continue to add more HD programming including additional HD channels in the coming months," said Ms. Shaffner. "We maintain a significant lead over our competitors and we are committed to maintaining it."
