Yarmouth, Nova Scotia - Eastlink is investing $4.2 million to upgrade its network to launch local telephone service in Yarmouth and surrounding communities. The upgrade to Eastlink's digital network will also enhance the quality of existing Eastlink services in the Yarmouth area.
Dan McKeen, Eastlink's co-CEO said, "Residents and businesses will have the option of choosing Eastlink Telephone for a lower cost. He added, "Customers phone service will be delivered using the same world class network that delivers Eastlink High Speed Internet and Cable Television service."
Upgrade construction in Yarmouth began in November 2006 and will be completed by Summer 2007. Eastlink Telephone service is available for $20.00 per month and customers choosing to switch to can enjoy free installation and are able to keep their existing phone number, jacks and directory listing. Customers can also bundle their cable, high speed and telephone service into Eastlink's popular Watch, Surf and Talk Bundle for one low monthly price.
