- Eastlink, the fifth largest cable company in Canada and the first to offer customers local telephone service over an advanced digital network, has selected Mpathix Voicemail system for its residential and home office subscriber base. Mpathix Inc. (www.mpathix.com) is a pioneer in open system, carrier-grade messaging solutions.
Eastlink first began using Mpathix in 2001 and recently upgraded its remaining residential and home office customers to the Mpathix platform.
"Mpathix has provided us with voicemail components that make it easy for our residential and home office customers to stay connected," says Dan McKeen, Co-CEO, Eastlink. " With the functionality that Mpathix offers, we are looking to the future when we can expand the range of voicemail services we offer to our residential customers and provide this service to business customers."
The Mpathix platform runs on the hardened, commercially available Sun Netra platform. Mpathix Voicemail now handles the bulk of Eastlink's voicemail needs with 100% of its residential located on the platform.
"Mpathix's open approach to messaging systems for telcos enables CLECs such as Eastlink to compete on equal footing with incumbent telcos," says Michael Guatto, president and CEO, Mpathix. "Mpathix enables Eastlink to enhance subscriber services such as voicemail and develop new features quickly while keeping operations and management costs low."
Mpathix is an industry-leading developer of open system, telco-hardened solutions, including voicemail, unified messaging, auto attendant, conferencing, enhanced IVR and presence and availability management applications.
Unlike competitive legacy systems, the company's MX platform is a "future-proof" investment that easily integrates with the latest technologies to evolve with customer needs over time. By simultaneously supporting SS7 and SIP protocols, Mpathix provides the freedom to migrate subscribers at any time without disturbing existing services.
