HALIFAX - What do you get when you mix a Canadian billiards supply mogul, a Tuvan Throat Singer, a Mexican racecar driver, a French Chiropractor, a Guatemalan schoolteacher and an Israeli fashion designer? No Borders! is a one-hour reality show, hosted by well-known local car enthusiast and Herald columnist Garry Sowerby .No Borders! brings together eleven couples from ten different countries, traveling three thousand miles from Detroit Motor City to Beverly Hills in two weeks. The couples blast across America trying to out-fun and out-vacation each other! Armed with bags full of travel accessories, 250-horsepower touring sedans and a list of 500 attractions, participants compete for awards ranging from "Best Vacation" to "Most Charismatic Translator".
At dinner parties occurring along the travel route, participants swap stories of back-roads and bar rooms of imposters, exotic dancers, state troopers and rustic geezers. Some get lost along the way while others get cranky. But in the end, it's events occurring through their windshields that glue the unlikely competitors together. No Borders! Will take viewers on one of the zaniest Road Trips ever. And along the way, they will get a look at how the world views America's fascination with the road. No Borders! will broadcast on Eastlink Television on Thursday, February 3 at 7:30 p.m. in the Halifax region and again on February 6 at 9 p.m. throughout Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.
