How do I sign up for Voicemail to Email service?
Voicemail to email service is available to all customers who subscribe
to Eastlink voicemail service. To become a customer contact us at
1-888-345-1111.
What do I do if I haven't been receiving Voicemail to my Email
account?
You will receive a confirmation voicemail from Eastlink within 24 hours
of subscribing to Voicemail to Email service. If you do not receive this email,
please contact Eastlink at 1-888-345-1111.
How large will a voicemail to Email attachment be?
The maximum voicemail message length is 5 minutes. This message would equate
to approximately 1 megabyte. To save data when accessing a voicemail through
your email account on your smartphone choose to "preview" the message
instead of downloading it.
If I delete my voicemail message in my email inbox will the
message still be available on my phone?
Yes. The Voicemail to
Email service only forwards your voicemails to your inbox. Anything you do to
email in your inbox (listen, delete, forward) will not change the status of
your messages in your telephone voicemail inbox.
Can I use any email address I choose?
Yes, use any email address you would like. The only limitation would be
the size of the attachments that are allowed in your email inbox. Most of your
voicemail messages should be below 500 KB, which is well below the inbox mail
limits of most email providers like Eastlink, Hotmail, and Gmail.
When I try to listen to a voicemail message on my BlackBerry it
says the message is in an unsupported format.
When listening to voicemail to email messages on your BlackBerry try
this: choose to "open the attachment" and when prompted, press
"Preview" instead of "Download and Play".
Will I have to dial any extra numbers to use your long distance services?
No. Simply dial all your long distance calls as you do now.
Can I cancel my long distance services at any time?
Yes. If at any time you are not completely happy with your long distance services, simply contact us at 1-888-345-1111.
Do all long distance calls qualify? Are there any restrictions or limits?
All direct-dial long distance calls qualify for the rates outlined in the long distance plan you choose. Any operator-assisted or collect long distance calls do not qualify for the Eastlink Long Distance Plan and will be billed to you by Eastlink on your monthly local service phone bill. Calls made with a calling card are also rated separately from your long distance plan.
Will the Eastlink Long Distance Plan have any impact on my local service?
In order to qualify for Eastlink's Long Distance Plan you must subscribe to Eastlink Local Telephone Service. By subscribing to both services, you save even more each month and enjoy the convenience of having both services with one provider.
I don't subscribe to the Eastlink Long Distance Plan. What are your per-minute long distance rates for calls to the United States and overseas?
Click here to see our international long distance calling rates.
Who can help if I'm having difficulty placing a North American or overseas long distance call?
If you have any questions, or require assistance placing a long distance call, you can call the operator. However, charges associated with operator assistance calls are not eligible for the Eastlink Long Distance Plan. These calls will be billed to you on your local service bill.
How are collect calls billed?
Collect calls are billed to you directly by your local service telephone company, and therefore will not be included in your Eastlink Long Distance Plan usage summary. Charges for collect calls will appear on the local telephone section of your Eastlink bill and the rates charged will be set by the phone company used by the person placing the call, and NOT by Eastlink. Eastlink simply passes through the charges billed by this phone company.
