Eastlink mobile and home phone customers who are hearing and/or speech impaired can use IP Relay to place and receive text-based calls from their computer or mobile phone, using the internet. A relay operator connects IP Relay callers to voice parties and helps facilitate the conversation by reading typed messages aloud and typing spoken responses. All IP Relay calls are confidential.
Local calls placed using IP Relay are free of charge, and IP to voice calls made within Canada are free of charge to the IP caller. Internet and directory assistance calls are charged at regular rates and will appear on your monthly bill.
IP users can access this service by visiting https://iprelay.eastlink.ca/. Before using IP Relay, make sure to review the terms of service.
If you’re using IP Relay on a computer, you must have an internet connection and web browser like Chrome or Safari installed. IP Relay can be used on a mobile device that has a QWERTY keyboard and web browser installed that supports AJAX and Javascript, like Skyfire for Windows.
