Message Relay Service (MRS) allows those who are deaf, hard of hearing or speech impaired, and who use a Teletypewriter (TTY), to communicate with others by phone. You simply type your conversation to a relay operator who then reads the typed conversation to the other person.
MRS is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and is free of charge for local calls. Regular long-distance rates apply for long distance calls. Calls placed through MRS are entirely confidential, with no record of the conversation retained. Relay operators are professionally trained and follow a strict code of ethics.
