At Eastlink, we're proud that so many of our team members contribute to their communities and improve the places where they live by volunteering, fundraising and supporting important causes.
When we invited our team to recommend co-workers they feel deserve recognition for their efforts, we learned all about an incredible leader, Chad Roy.
For many years, Chad has been collecting donations and presents to create gift packages as part of Operation Christmas Child. A friend from his church introduced him to the charitable organization in 2018 and he's been dedicated to providing Christmas packages to children around the world ever since.
Chad works year-round on fundraisers and canvases for donations to fill shoeboxes with gifts and surprises that the Operation Christmas Child team then distributes to children around the world.
“Every year there is more interest and growth as word spreads,” he says. “I set a goal and always hope to exceed it. Chad is always impressed with the generosity friends, co-workers and community members have shown in giving.
Chad's co-workers admire his dedication to the program, saying, "The care and work he devotes to helping children have a Christmas, that they may not otherwise have had is heartwarming and sets a strong example for the rest of his team."
