When Leah Hartley joined Eastlink fresh out of university, she quickly found her place in the Finance department and began building a career that continues to challenge and motivate her. As Accounting Manager for capital and corporate services, she’s helped develop new applications, streamline workflows, and support meaningful organizational change.
Leah’s time at Eastlink goes far beyond her day‑to‑day responsibilities. She loves taking part in the many opportunities available to employees including one standout development experience that helped her strengthen her leadership skills, build new connections, and gain a broader understanding of the company. She values being able to learn new things, have fun, and leave each experience feeling even more connected to the company and our people.
When asked if she had advice for future accountants, Leah is refreshingly honest. “The CPA journey is tough. It’s long, demanding, and overwhelming at times. But the challenge is temporary, and the rewards last a lifetime.” She feels grateful for the support and flexibility Eastlink has given her along the way, and she encourages others to keep going, even when it feels difficult.
If Leah looks familiar, you may recognize her from Eastlink’s Internet Security commercial. For someone who jokes that she usually “hides behind a computer,” being asked to appear on camera was unexpected but unforgettable, and a reminder of how the company values its people.
Outside of work, Leah unwinds in the kitchen. Cooking is her favourite way to relax before settling in with some reality TV and her chihuahua curled up on her lap - a modest routine that keeps her grounded and ready for the next day.
