Product Manager, NS

When Lindsay Thorne joined our Door-to-Door sales team 15 years ago, she likely didn’t imagine she’d one day be the Product Manager for our Internet and Video businesses, but for the past four years, that’s exactly where her career has led.
With a background rooted almost entirely in sales, applying for a product management role felt like a big step. While Lindsay didn’t come with formal product training, she brought a deep knowledge of our products, systems, and customers—along with a strong understanding of how they’ve evolved over time.
She was also confident in Eastlink’s commitment to first recognizing its people (that photo is when she won Chairman’s Choice back in her Sales days!) but also developing them through training and sharing opportunities for growth. “When I look at the people around me, I see how many of us are direct beneficiaries of that investment,” she says.
Taking that leap allowed Lindsay to grow her career in a direction she’s genuinely excited about. “I’m most proud that I put myself out there and applied for this role,” she reflects. “I recognized and believed in my own potential.”
Her advice for those just starting out? “You don’t need to know everything—you just need to trust that you can learn anything. Apply for the role, then apply yourself once you’re in it. Take the shot.”
Today, Lindsay spends her time analyzing market and customer trends, particularly the growing demand for flexibility and personalization. Her favourite projects are those that expand customization options for customers. “We live in an on-demand world,” she says, “and people expect a personalized experience from their subscriptions.”
Outside of work, life is just as busy with a two-year-old daughter at home. Balance can be tricky, but Lindsay has learned to carve out quiet moments early in the morning with coffee in hand, watching the sun rise—before waking her daughter and, as she puts it, “entering chaos—stage right.”
