Your internet, phone, and TV services need power to work. If your outage is due to a power loss, we coordinate closely with local utilities to restore service as quickly and safely as possible.
How to Prepare
Charge your devices: Phones, tablets, laptops, and power banks.
Conserve battery: Use low power mode, reduce screen brightness, and limit use to essential communication.
Use surge protectors: Unplug devices not protected during an outage and plug them back in gradually once power returns.
Consider backup power: A generator or UPS can keep devices running temporarily.
Keep a battery-powered radio and extra batteries on hand.
Bring a power bar if relocating, so you can charge multiple devices.
Phone Service
Phones connected to a wall jack may stay active for 6–8 hours using the modem’s battery backup.
Cordless phones need their own power source.
Smart Home & Security
Your security panel has a backup battery that lasts up to 24 hours.
Use the Alarm.com app to receive power outage and restoration alerts.
If the battery doesn’t recharge after power returns, contact Tech Support.
